Noel Jordan

As a child, Noel jordan observed wildlife on excursions with her family. She and her mother, Elsa Burgbacher were talented artists. Elsa who died in 1982 specialized in pencil illustrations of children. Noel was also skilled with pencil and later pen and ink. She painted all kinds of subjects, but is perhaps best loved for her paintings of wild animals. She feels art should always tell a story.

In school, Noel drew images for yearbooks, posters and local newspapers. She is a gifted cartoonist. After she earned her degree in art from Arizona State University, Noel joined the Phoenix Zoological Society and became a member of the Zoo Auxiliary. She was the official artist of the Phoenix Zoo for over 20 years. She has won too many awards to list and has illustrated animals from around the world.

She also painted life size race horses that were hung in the Turf Club at Turf Paradise in Phoenix. Her paintings also grace the walls of many Phoenix and Scottsdale galleries and restaurants.

Noel is an expert in the mixing of medias of all kinds including acrylics, oils, lacquers, watercolors, and even glitter embellishments to highlight a few select origonals. She is adept at finding the right mixture of media’s to deliver the exact image and feel she wishes to create.

Noel now enjoys living on her ranch in Arizona where she is still one of the most prolific artists in the Verde Valley.
