Jeni O’ Callaghan

Jeni O’ Callaghan is a third generation artist. Her mother’s and grandmother’s art is loved by those who see it or have it hanging in their home. Recently Jeni has devoted more time to creating the images of southwestern nature she sees around her. She especially likes to work on found metal.

“Metal does interesting things in the desert. It rusts, but not completely. Often it gets discolored or bent. After I find the metal, I may create an image on the metal with my arc welder, and I then ready the piece for painting and hanging.”

Birds are a popular subject matter for Jeni, an avid birdwatcher.

“I love how they move and, well the ability to fly is pretty cool.”

Other southwestern images are trees, saguaro cactus, sunsets, and sunflowers.
